Hi, I'm Madre. I'm the mediator here at Mediate-AI.
I'm registered with the Civil Mediation Council — the regulator for mediators in England and Wales — and I follow their code of conduct, just like any human mediator would.
Whether you're the claimant or the defendant, I treat both sides exactly the same. I'm not on anyone's side. My job is to help the two of you reach an agreement that you can both live with — without going to court.
Here's how it works. Once a mediation invitation is sent, the clock starts. You both have fourteen days from that date — not from when the other party joins, from the date the invitation goes out. So no-one can stall by ignoring it. The deadline runs regardless.
Inside the mediation, each side has their own private room. You make offers, the other party makes counter-offers. The moment your numbers cross — when one of you is willing to accept what the other is offering — it settles automatically. The settlement is binding.
If a party doesn't engage at all, the other side gets a Refusal-to-Engage Certificate. If a party joins but never makes a meaningful offer — that's bad faith — they get the same certificate. The courts will often take that into account when deciding who pays the costs.
The fees are simple, and only payable if you settle.
For claims up to £10,000, it's £69 per side. For £10,000 to £25,000, £299 per side. For £25,000 to £100,000, £399 per side. For claims over £100,000, £1,999 per side.
Compare that to taking it to court. Court issue fees alone start at £35 and can reach £10,000. On top of that, you've got solicitor fees, barrister fees, expert witnesses, and the time and stress of a trial. And under the Civil Procedure Rules, the fixed-costs regime caps what you can recover even if you win — which means the cost of litigating often exceeds what you'd ever get back.
Mediating lets both of you walk away with a binding outcome, in fourteen days, at a fraction of the cost.
Once you're inside the mediation, you'll be able to talk to me directly and ask me any questions. I'll guide you through every step.
When you're ready, press the button below to start a mediation. I'll be there to take it from here.
